Drug and Bomb Dogs Minimize

Law enforcement agencies all have ideas of how they want to use their drug dogs.  Some may want a dog that can be used safely in school demonstrations and searches; public events and routine traffic stops. Others may want a dog that will protect the handler from a rough neighborhood by intimidation and through protection training, issuing search warrants and maybe not so routine traffic stops.  Some may want something in-between.  All of us want a drug dog that is trained to find drugs though - and that is always our focus.

We try to cater to all of these needs and expectations by keeping on hand a variety of dogs from Labs and Retrievers, to Shepherds and Mals, to mixed breed dogs.  We receive our dogs through many different sources.  Some we rescue from local shelters, some we receive from private individuals who just can't take care of an over-active dog.  Others we purchase as green dogs to ensure we keep the best selection on hand to serve every department's needs and wants when it comes to the new addition to their drug interdiction team.

While we focus our training on narcotic detection dogs, we also train for man-tracking, patrol, bomb and arson detection as well.  Tracking and patrol can be added to the appropriate K-9 candidate by special order.  Bomb detection and Arson detection dogs are special order and can be trained in about 16 weeks depending on the dog.

Our narcotic detection K-9’s are all trained on 6 basic drug odors. These are Marijuana, Cocaine, Crack Cocaine, Methamphetamine, Heroin, and Hashish. They will also alert on Ecstasy and LSD. They are put through a very thorough and intensive training program; with at least 2 weeks working in different environments such as schools, motels, airports, salvage yards and trucking companies. They are trained to search in many different situations and scenarios, including highway drug interdiction searches.

Handler training and certification is included in purchase price. Handler training is approved by P.O.S.T. for 40 hours of continuing education credit to law enforcement.* In addition we guarantee all of our dogs with both working and health guarantees, and offer 20 hours of free refresher training for 5 years.
